Like every year, due to the surge in traffic before and toward the end of Ramadan our website becomes dysfunctional when it overloads. Like many thousands of others, we strongly ask you to follow us on Facebook and on Twitter for regular updates.
Eid ul-Fitr 2012 is expected to be on either Saturday 18th of August or on Sunday 19th of August 2012. This is dependant upon the sighting of the New Moon. Please revisit us again on the evening of Friday 17th of August after 6 PM GMT for when the date for Eid 2012 will be announced.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), taught us to sight the crescent moon (Hilal) which marks the beginning of the month and the start of Eid ul-Fitr. Muslims follow the Islamic Lunar Calendar to determine such events.
